Many Things to Do in Minneapolis

I was blown away by how much we loved our visit to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Maybe because we visited during the perfect weekend of weather they have ever had in the history of time or maybe because every meal we ate was great!? Here is what we loved:

The Weather

‘Twas the first weekend in September and all through the city, not a wind was too blustery nor the sun too scorching! The day before we arrived, it was 88 degrees. The week after we got home, frost warnings. My point is: Midwest weather is finicky and we got lucky. Be prepared with shorts and tees but don’t forget jeans and jackets. The air was so crisp that my hair was perfection but my hands needed lotion. You get the point.

Fresh Air

Minneapolis, during its warm months, has plenty to do outdoors. Everywhere you turn there are bike and walking trails- bikes can be rented publicly. Minneahaha Falls had beautiful mild trails to explore and shallow water to splash in. Lakes. Lots of lakes. Plenty of lakes with beautiful views and parks. The Sculpture Garden is well-planned and a great spot for an afternoon walk. While you’re at the Sculpture Garden, you can’t miss the walking bridge! It’s beautiful and you'll find a beautiful inspirational quote as you cross.

The Hospitality

Even though we visited during Covid, our entire stay was lovely! From the service at our hotel to the people we passed on walking paths- everyone was lovely. We felt safe and had a blast!

I never thought I would be a fan of such a chilly state but Minneapolis won me over. It’s full of amazing architecture and there are plenty of adventures to be had. We spent four nights and that was a great amount of time to sample the local food and do everything on our list!
